Historic Paris Two Room Apartment
"
Historic Paris Apartment"
This delightful two
room apartment is located near the Louvre, just off Rue du Louvre and Rue
Etienne Marcel. It has recently received a major face lift including newpainting
and curtain replacement.
This unique historical
apartment was part of the home of the Countess DuBarry who was the mistress of
Louis XV. In fact we are told that she was dragged from this building during the
revolution (when she was in her 70.s) and taken to the Guillotine. That
was her punishment for having had a relationship with the father of Louis XVI.
|

The small galley type kitchen is perfect for heating
up the prepared meals from our famous Rue Montorgueil. |
We of course do not occupy the
entire building as the countess did, but have the part that was her living room,
where she received the elite of France. Today that room is divided into two
rooms, a small galley type kitchen and a small bathroom with
step in shower.
